How to join Anamay ashram Volunteer Program?

When I asked Ashutosh Ji Guruji, the founder of Anamay ashram, whose old name is Urs Strobel, for information about Volunteering, he replied through email;

You are most welcome. Volunteering is always possible after attending a one week shivir. The next shivir starts on ___ After that you can stay as a Volunteer as long as you like.

7 Days Shivir / Course fee (registration charges)

1-Week Dive into Transcendental Meditation (TM)

Dear Applicants to Anamay Ashram,

We would like to thank all those who have shown interest in joining us at the Anamay Ashram as volunteers.

We are indeed humbled by the overwhelming interest all of you have shown. Over 1000 of you have responded by phone, whatsApp, sms or emails.  We are keen to accommodate as many as we can. However, we are a small Ashram of only 6 acres and 38 rooms, and cannot accommodate beyond our existing capacity.

Yet, we are keen to give everyone an opportunity. Therefore, we are announcing a special programme of one week’s duration with a nominal total fee of INR.3,500/- all inclusive. Details of the course are as follows:

1-Week Program: Learn Transcendental Meditation, Ayurveda, and Maharishi Vedic Science During this week participants will learn the Transcendental Meditation technique, Yoga, basic principles of Ayurveda, a general introduction to Vedic Science, Vaastu Shastra, free Jyotish consultation etc. This 1-week program will give you an opportunity to explore, practice and understand the fundamentals. If you like what we are teaching, you have an opportunity to take it further.

For the qualified candidates (people with good mental and physical health), there will be an opportunity to either be trained as a teacher of Transcendental Meditation or join a voluntary life-time dedication program.

After successful completion of 1-week Program offered by ANAMAY ASHRAM For Qualified Applicants there will be Two Long-Term Opportunities in India in collaboration with the international TM Organization, one of our Partner Organizations.

How to reach anamay ashram?

Ashram is in Kausani, nearest station is Kathgodam. Best train is Ranikhet Express from Rajasthan, Madhya pradesh, Punjab, Hariyana or Delhi.

Anamay Ashram Kausnai Shivir Daily Routine

This is one-week assembly on the practical ans theoretical aspect of vedic science is designed to give everyone in a short span an interview of Maharshi Mahesh Yogi’s insight into Ved. You are requested to follow the given course-routine to get maximum benefits for yourself.  All course activities are happening in a Hall in the middle of the campus, Called TTC Hall. During all classes you are requested to switch off your mobile and deposit in the box provided for it and when going for meals or to retire for the night you take it with you.

Volunteer Working Report

When you are doing Volunteering, Guruji of the ashram will call you to his office one day and will give everyone an A4 size paper. In which Date, Work you have done – short description, your name, month, hours, total working hours, you will have to fill all these information in the form. Now read further information;

Welcome to Anamay ashram Volunteer Program. Enjoy the supportive environment of the Himalaya and the Vedic Ashram for your spiritual evolution and participate aa much as you can in the daily program like yoga, meditation, evening arti etc. If you learned TM (transcendental meditation) then come to the group meditation of either the children, workers or to the evening group in Ashutosh’s room.

Unless you work on a specific project be present at 8:20 with all the staff so we can discuss the target of the day and who is doing what. You are expected to work in a average 5 hours a day 7 days a week. If you work extra hours on some days – you gain a day off. 

What is Anamay Vedic Retreat?

Anamay Vedic Retreat (Panchkarma centre) is located adjacent to Anamay Ashram in Kausani (Himalaya region, Uttarakhand, India) and has comfortable accommodation in addition to offering Vedic and Ayurvedic rejuvenation. It is also the ideal place for learning deep meditation and yoga. The temperatures in the foothills of the Himalayas are moderate all year around.
